I have a thing for flowers, particularly fields of them. I love to be overwhelmed with color and texture and I enjoy the challenge of expressing it! So when I heard about a dahlia farm about five miles away from home, of course I had to go. I packed up my easel and supplies, grabbed my adventure buddy Rick, and went painting! I also got to meet the gardener behind this amazing farm and she told me that there was going to be a plein air painting class in the fields later that week. Guess I’m just an early bird!

I asked the owner which flowers were her favorite and she led me to the experimental section and these two gorgeous orange blooms. Great choice, I love those ones too.
