This is a pre-order product. I didn’t have the files together to make prints as of this writing, but plan to send them out to my print-on-demand site by March 5th. Villaflores is originally a 16×20″ acrylic painting on canvas of a female ruby-throated hummingbird. While the males of this species are objectively beautiful, they do kind of hog the spotlight. The female rubies are just as pretty in their own way, and you KNOW they’re just as feisty. I went all-out with the color on this one and really had fun with buzzy contrasts. The name comes from an interesting town name in her home-range in Mexico. Villaflores means small village of flowers. And what more could a hummingbird ask for, really?
