Hummingbirds are known as symbols of joy and happiness and these four sure have brought a lot of people joy!
They also represent creativity, persistence and freedom. They’re tenacious little guys and will fight for their territory and feeder! They’re also the only birds that can fly backwards, a powerful metaphor for creativity and freedom.

I created the original versions of these paintings at the beginning of the pandemic in a manic explosion of color. The palette knife strokes down the canvases are bold statements of independence and resilience while the birds bring their language of symbols and invite you to reminisce about your own experiences.

This set of four hummingbirds is perfect for hanging together on a wall or for spreading the color around the room.
