Welcome to my new series, The Woods.

It’s about creatures I see in the woods.

On wood.

A while back, a friend of mine gave me a handful of live edge slabs of locally-sourced wood. I think it’s walnut or something, I’m not a wood guy.

I’ve recently gotten around to painting up a series on it, inspired by the birds and other creatures I might see on an average walk in the woods.

Walks and hikes have always been a big source of inspiration for me, as well as a way to move inspiration from the mind to the body. The solitude and silence connects me more firmly to the world around.
