A Sandhill Crane strolls through the cattails in search of a snack
I’ve found myself inspired by sandhill cranes lately. Especially since visiting Haehnle Sanctuary sanctuary in Jackson after a show and stumbling on their migration at sunset. I cannot explain how beautiful it was to see hundreds of these majestic birds coming in to land at golden hour through sunset. Just incredible.
I took the reference photo in Kensington Metropark in Milford sometime last winter. The sandhills walk the trails like they own them!
So I suppose this is one of many, many pieces in my catalog inspired by these prehistoric creatures. I love them so much.
