This is a pre-order product, since it’s a very new painting and I haven’t gotten the files together to make a print yet. Nothing to See Here (Move Along) is part of my Synanthrope series. What is a Synanthrope? Generally speaking, they are undomesticated creatures that live in close association with people and benefit from their surroundings and activities. I’m exploring this subject by not only painting the creatures themselves, but in the backgrounds as well. I started with taped-off sections and painted those, then I pulled off the tape (very early in the process and let the paint drip. I also sprayed it a little with a spray bottle to enhance the effect. The sharp lines represent the boundaries that we put on our world and the breaks and drips represent how these animals live among us, but live by their own rules. Personally, I love raccoons because they’re they perfect mix of cute and clever. They look like round bandits in the dusk, scurrying away into the night. This is one of everyone’s favorite synanthropes, so of course I had to include one in the series.   I anticipate being able to send these out for print-on-demand by March 5th at the latest and you’ll be notified along the whole process.
